My 73 yo mother was diagnosed with myelodysplasia three months ago. After failing to respond to the growth factor treatment, her doctor began administering Vidaza, using the 5 day cycle. After the 3rd shot, she was treated for dehydration. After the 4th shot, she was placed in the hospital and died one week later; after lapsing into a coma. The doctor said she was unable to stand the effects of the drug and probably had a series of strokes while hospitalized.
