suffered hoarseness of voice and sudden inability to breathe while asleep at night resulting in waking up and waiting for up to 30 seconds before being able to breath again. After this happen about eight times over five months, I went to the doctor as I feared it could be potentially fatal. The doctor said it sounded as though my windpipe was collapasing or something to do with my vocal cords. Since I went off seretide, I have not experienced this. I very unpleasant and scary experience.
Since Feb 08 I have been on Seretide as acquired Asthma due to damage to lungs for PE in both lungs. At time they changed my BP meds Atenlol as it made asthma worse. Since then have gone through every type of BP they have but side effects are all bad.. Started with severe extruciating muscle cramps in legs.. I now realise that the common denominator is the Seretide. These cramps attack me during day at night.. I have to be very careful how I move as one wrong move I get an attack. Cramps have also moved to neck hips and back as I have had to increase the meds. I also noted that this drugs can cause glaucoma and cataracts as I am am on donor list for a cornea I suspect this is not a drug condusive to my medical conditions.
i also have woken up in the niand not been able to breath and get back to sleep all night. this drug makes you dependant on it. as soon as i stop taking it i get athsma and muscular pains in my chest and loads of mucus. i have no idea why my doctor or any doctor would recomend this.
now i am having to go cold turkey after seeing everyone elses coments on the internet to back up my suspicions.
Started taking two puffs a day from 22nd June 09. Had nausea, headache, itchiness. Itchy throat-coughed. Feeling of congestion (chest) and bloatedness. Breathless after minor exertion. Had to take 4 puffs of Ventolin per day to feel comfortable.
Cut down to one puff a day on 24th June upon advice of specialist. Effects were not that severe in the morning but the evening puff brought the same symptoms. Had to take 2 puffs of Ventolin ( about 20 mins ago) to feel a bit more comfortable. Headache is just beginning to ease up.
Will talk to specialist tomorrow about not taking this medicine.
