I have taken Relpax for migraines about 20 times. Three of those times, I have become deathly ill. It starts with a hot feeling, profuse sweating, and then I am incapacitated with nausea and feeling faint. This happens about 45 minuntes after I take the drug, the same time it takes for it to work. I end up on the floor, unable to function. This event lasts anywhere from 15-30 minutes. I take Paxil, a very light dose, and I believe I am having a reaction.

hi lynne, it sounds like the drug just isn’t working, for all you decribe can all be part of the migraine itself. you don’t mention what happens after the 30 minute period. r u then ok? or are you in migraine mode? i have been taking relpax for several years without incident. i have virtually no side effects. according to my doctor, when it comes to abortive migraine drugs-triptans-they all work pretty much the same way. it is just a matter of finding out which ones work for you. perhaps you should try some others if you have not done so. just as an fyi, imitrix is now offered as a generic and is quite inexpensive ($15 for 9 pills)so that might be a good place to start.unfortunately, they don’t work well for me, but it was worth a shot. re paxil i have no idea, but i find that a good pharmacist is great resource. when it comes to drug interaction questions they are much better than an md. i am sure he/she can answer that question for you. good luck.
