I was on Keppra for four weeks two years ago. Within days of being on the medicine I started having hallucinations and delusions. In just two weeks I was crying over the most ridiculous things, throwing stuff at anyone who even remotely aggitated me, and became very violent. I had no idea how much time had gone by. I didn’t know what was happening to me. My husband told my neurologist (who I refuse to allow to treat me for my epilepsy anymore) what was going on and doctor said “these are normal side effects” and to “give her time to adjust”. My husband finally just took the drugs and flushed them and within four days I was nearly back to normal. Apparently I had threatened to kill him and tried contacting Santa Claus to inform him he hadn’t brought me what I wanted for Christmas when I was ten years old. A few weeks ago I came across an article advertising Keppra and in the listed side effects: delusions, hallucinating, aggitation, aggression, depression, suicide…and the list goes on and on. If your doctor suggests this drug JUST SAY NO!
