I have been taking Gabapentin for a month. Started with 150 mg now am taking 800 a day. The first week I thought I was taking a magic pill. I did not have any pain in my thighs for the first time in 15 years. I still had back pain, pain down the side of my thighs and the back of my calves. My feet were still painful, but I was so happy to have my thighs better. When the Gabapentin was increased the side effects became too unbearable. First of all I am so tired It is all I can do to drag mysel out of bed. I nod off to sleep with no warning - at the computer, while reading, or sitting. I worry about driving, I have a constant headache, I am alway hungry and am gaining weight. I have a hard time concentrating and I just feel sick. I am bipolar and have been in remission for over 25 years. But since starting Gabapentin I have become clinically depressed. This is my major concern. I see the neurologist next week and I am seriously considering stopping this med. I lived with the thigh pain for 15 years and I still have the rest of my pain so I feel that the problems of the med out weigh the benifits.
