After being on Fosamax for approximately four and one half years suddenly I developed severe medial bilateral knee pain. Have pain when walking down and up stairs. I have NO history of arthritis, no inflammation or redness at the location of pain. I stopped taking the medication three months after experiencing these symptoms in Jan o8 and still suffer these effects 10 months later.
I took this medication post menopausely prophylactically a 35mg weekly dose to prevent bone loss. I understand Fosamax has a half life of 10 years. Does the pain eventually go away or is this permanent damage?
