   I have been on and off doxycycline for over a year. I was recently switched to Doryx. I am allergic to many many antibiotics. The first time i was on them, they caused severe stomach pains an acid refulx. S o much to the point, I stopped eating. I took myself off of them for 8 months. I recently went back to my Derm, and told him I’d prefer not to be on any antibiotics, expecially since i dont like pills anyway. He assured me given my condition adn inflamation (my acne is mild!) that I needed to be on it. I decided I’d try one more time. I’m 23 and tire of acne. I was going from a 100 mg twice daily to Doryx at 150 mg once a day. The first dose was fine, dose 2 was ok. By dose 3 i was having pretty sever mood swongs (but i was also a bit hormonal). By dose 4, when i woke up in the mornings, I felt so congested. I couldnt hear, had ringing in my ears. I felt like i was doing deaf. As the day progressed I had sever sensitivity to light, and my peripheral vision was blurry.I have been on it for only over a week now, and i feel anxious, moody, and i cant hear correctly. I cannot concentrate, and i feel sick to my stomach. Not as bad as last time, but still enough to make me gag. Most of my symptoms are worse in the morning. I decided not to take my pill one day, and the symptoms decresed immensely. Needless to say. Its not me, its the drug. I knew it from the start, and my doc didnt want to listen to me. Time to find a new doc.
