   I went to the ER per my primary care doctor for an infection of my fingernail, which went into the pad of my finger. The doctor put me on cleocin for seven days. This is my third day, and this evening I felt like my stomach was on fire. Anything I tried to drink ie…milk,water…would ignite the blaze. Any food I tried to eat would do the same. The burning pain came on suddenly after my 5:00 pm dose of the cleocin. This really scared me. I NEVER have heart burn or stomach problems. I called the doctor on call, and he told me to go to the ER. Oh brother…that’s where my problems started!! And to add insult to injury (no pun intended) It wasn’t even a real doctor who lanced my infected finger, got the pus out of it, and put me on this poison….it was a PA. I am so angry. I stopped the cleocin…I just hope that there are no residual effects from this.

   this is so crazy!! everyone thinks i’m nuts, but i have the same symptoms. the burning…its like a fire pit in my stomach. i thought it was b/c i took it on an empty stomach, but after eating before i took it, it still happens. it comes in waves and gives me horrible heartburn. i hope there are no long term side effects. definately not going to take it anymore.
