   My primary care physician swithed my anti-depression medication from Cymbalta 60 mg to Celexa (Citalopram HBR 40 mg) but didn’t answer me when I asked him twice why he was changing the prescription. After a couple of days on Celexa I found myself becoming incredibly irritable, highly agitated, and struggling with an overwhelming amount of boiling anger, feeling like a volcano about to erupt! I stopped the Celexa and the explosive tense feeling subsided.

   I’m on a plan where I pay nothing for my prescriptions, but, my primary care doctor has more control and is more of a “gatekeeper,” making more decisions for me. I now need to ask for referrals to see specialists and my primary doctor has more control than he did before on the more expensive plan I had. It is very frustrating to be switched, without any explanation, to another antidepression drug, especially when I did not even talk to my doctor about wanting to try another medication, and, to top it all off, the new medicine actually makes me feel a lot worse!
