Zopiclone and completed suicide Patient Reports February 11, 2012

Zopiclone side effect was reported by a Consumer or non-health professional from UNITED KINGDOM on Apr 29, 2008. Female patient, 66 years of age, was diagnosed with sleep disorder  and was treated with Zopiclone. After drug was administered, patient experienced the following side effects: completed suicide, hepatic steatosis, overdose, pulmonary oedema. Zopiclone dosage: (7.5 MG WAS PRESCRIBED PRIOR TO THE OVERDOSE) (7.5 MG), ORAL. During the same period patient was treated with MIRTAZAPINE, AMITRIPTLINE, ANADIN EXTRA, DILTIAZEM, ACETYLSALICYLIC ACID SRT. Patient died.

Zopiclone side effect was reported by a Health Professional from UNITED KINGDOM on Sept 28, 2007. Male patient, 63 years of age, was diagnosed with insomnia, depression , agitation and was treated with Zopiclone. After drug was administered, patient experienced the following side effects: completed suicide. Zopiclone dosage: 7.5 MG. During the same period patient was treated with PAROXETINE, ZOLPIDEM TARTRATE, ZOLPIDEM TARTRATE. Patient died on 10/10/2006.
