Zonisamide Side Effects Report #4752391-X
Zonisamide side effect was reported by a Consumer or non-health professional from JAPAN on Aug 10, 2005. Female patient, 45 years of age, was diagnosed with loss of consciousness and was treated with Zonisamide. After drug was administered, patient experienced the following side effects: anorexia, asthenia, bronchitis , eczema , gait disturbance, insomnia, oedema. Zonisamide dosage: 400 MG, 2 IN 1 D, ORAL. During the same period patient was treated with ARTANE, ATARAX, ZOLPIDEM TARTRATE, ESTAZOLAM, VEGETAMIN, DIAZEPAM. Patient was hospitalized. Patient recovered.

Zonisamide side effect was reported by a Physician from JAPAN on June 14, 2006. Male patient, 85 years of age, was diagnosed with epilepsy  and was treated with Zonisamide. After drug was administered, patient experienced the following side effects: anorexia, hepatic function abnormal, liver disorder, oedema peripheral, pneumonia , pulmonary oedema. Zonisamide dosage: 200 MG, ORAL. During the same period patient was treated with ASPIRIN, HALCION, OPALMON, AMAZOLON, FERROMIA, CLARITHROMYCIN, MUCODYNE, LEFTOSE. Patient was hospitalized. Patient recovered.

After drug was administered, patient experienced the following side effects: alanine aminotransferase increased, anorexia, aspartate aminotransferase increased, blood pressure decreased, diarrhoea, disseminated intravascular coagulation, eosinophilia, flatulence, haemodialysis. Zonisamide dosage: 200 MG, 2 IN 1 D, ORAL. During the same period patient was treated with ADALAT, VALPROATE, PHENOBARBITAL, ALLELOCK, HOMOCLOMIN, LASIX, PREDNISOLONE. Patient was hospitalized. Patient died on 07/08/2006.

Zonisamide dosage: 200 MG, 2 IN 1 D, ORAL. During the same period patient was treated with ADALAT, VALPROATE, PHENOBARBITAL, ALLELOCK, HOMOCLOMIN, LASIX, PREDNISOLONE. Patient died on 07/08/2006.

Patient was hospitalized. Patient recovered.
