Zidovudine Side Effects Report #5378753-8
Zidovudine side effect was reported by a Physician from SOUTH AFRICA on June 25, 2007. Female patient, 33 years of age, weighting 99.21 lb, was diagnosed with hiv infection  and was treated with Zidovudine. After drug was administered, patient experienced the following side effects: anaemia, crepitations, dyspnoea, lung infiltration, pneumonia . Zidovudine dosage: 300MG TWICE PER DAY. During the same period patient was treated with EFAVIRENZ, COMBIVIR. Patient was hospitalized. Patient recovered.

Female patient, child 2 years of age, weighting 23.37 lb, was diagnosed with hiv infection  and was treated with Zidovudine. After drug was administered, patient experienced the following side effects: hepatomegaly, lymphadenectomy, mucosal discolouration, petechiae, pneumonia , rhinitis, skin hyperpigmentation, thrombocytopenia. Zidovudine dosage: 80 MILLIGRAMS TWICE DAILY ORALLY. During the same period patient was treated with LAMIVUDINE, COTRIMOXAZOLE, VITAMIN A, VITAMIN B1, VITAMIN B, NICOTINAMIDE, RIBOFLAVIN, GREEN IRON AMMONIUM CITRATE. Patient was hospitalized. Patient recovered.

Patient recovered.

After drug was administered, patient experienced the following side effects: chest discomfort, pneumonia . Zidovudine dosage: 70 MG BD ORAL. During the same period patient was treated with LAMIVUDINE, LOPINAVIR AND RITONAVIR. Patient died on 06/02/2007.

During the same period patient was treated with LAMIVUDINE, KALETRA, AUGMENTIN, PANADO. Patient died on 06/02/2007.

After drug was administered, patient experienced the following side effects: anorexia, cough, gastroenteritis , hepatic failure, hepatosplenomegaly, irritability, pneumonia , pyrexia, tachypnoea. Zidovudine dosage: 95MG PER DAY. During the same period patient was treated with LAMIVUDINE, COTRIMOXAZOLE. Patient was hospitalized. Patient died on 05/10/2007.

After drug was administered, patient experienced the following side effects: dehydration, gastroenteritis , lactic acidosis, myocarditis, neutropenia, pneumonia , sepsis . Zidovudine dosage: 105MG TWICE PER DAY. During the same period patient was treated with LAMIVUDINE, KALETRA. Patient was hospitalized. Patient recovered.
