Voriconazole Side Effects Report #5969315-X
Voriconazole side effect was reported by a Consumer or non-health professional from CANADA on Nov 14, 2008. Male patient, weighting 184.7 lb, was diagnosed with prophylaxis and was treated with Voriconazole. After drug was administered, patient experienced the following side effects: blood creatinine increased, chronic hepatitis, diarrhoea, hepatic cirrhosis, hepatic enzyme abnormal, hepatorenal syndrome, pancytopenia, peritonitis bacterial, renal failure acute. Voriconazole dosage: unknown. During the same period patient was treated with PREDNISONE, TACROLIMUS, METRONIDAZOLE, RABEPRAZOLE. Patient was hospitalized. Patient died on 02/23/2008.

Voriconazole dosage: 900 MG (450 MG, 2 IN 1 D), INTRAVENOUS; 600 MG (300 MG, 2 IN 1 D), INTRAVENOUS. During the same period patient was treated with AZITHROMYCIN, CEFEPIME, BACTRIM, ATORVATASTATIN, LORAZEPAM, METOPROLOL TARTRATE. Patient recovered.

After drug was administered, patient experienced the following side effects: bacterial sepsis, blood creatinine increased, hyperbilirubinaemia, liver function test abnormal. Voriconazole dosage: 600 MG (300 MG, 2 IN 1 D), INTRAVENOUS. During the same period patient was treated with IMIPENEM. Patient was hospitalized. Patient died on 07/12/2006.

Voriconazole dosage: 200MG BID PO. During the same period patient was treated with METHOTREXATE. Patient recovered.
