Valproic side effect was reported by a Pharmacist from UNITED STATES on Aug 01, 2006. Female patient, 17 years of age, weighting 138.9 lb, was diagnosed with migraine  and was treated with Valproic. After drug was administered, patient experienced the following side effects: ammonia increased, confusional state, encephalopathy, mental status changes, nausea , somnolence. Valproic dosage: 250 MG Q 6 HOURS IV. During the same period patient was treated with TOPAMAX. Patient was hospitalized. Patient recovered.
