Valproic side effect was reported by a Consumer or non-health professional from UNITED STATES on Dec 19, 2005. Male patient, 49 years of age, was diagnosed with mood swings and was treated with Valproic. After drug was administered, patient experienced the following side effects: abdominal pain , nausea , weight decreased. Valproic dosage: 250 MG FIVE TIMES PER DAY. During the same period patient was treated with SEROQUEL, RISPERDAL, ATENOLOL, ASPIRIN. Patient recovered.

After drug was administered, patient experienced the following side effects: abdominal pain , bowel sounds abnormal, colitis, diarrhoea, weight decreased. Valproic dosage: unknown. During the same period patient was treated with CARBAMAZEPINE. Patient was hospitalized. Patient recovered.

After drug was administered, patient experienced the following side effects: abdominal distension, abdominal pain , acute respiratory failure, bradycardia, constipation , hypotension, hypovolaemia, lethargy, metabolic acidosis. Valproic dosage: 400 MG QID PO. During the same period patient was treated with LEVETIRACETAM, RANITIDINE, CLONAZEPAM, EPINEPHRINE, DOPAMINE, VASOPRESSIN. Patient died on 07/15/2006.
