Valganciclovir side effect was reported by a Physician from FRANCE on Nov 24, 2008. Female patient was diagnosed with cytomegalovirus infection  and was treated with Valganciclovir. After drug was administered, patient experienced the following side effects: hydropneumothorax, pulmonary embolism , renal failure. Valganciclovir dosage: unknown. Patient was hospitalized. Patient recovered.

Valganciclovir side effect was reported by a Pharmacist from SLOVAKIA (Slovak Republic) on Jan 17, 2008. Male patient, 13 years of age, weighting 68.34 lb, was diagnosed with encephalitis herpes and was treated with Valganciclovir. After drug was administered, patient experienced the following side effects: neurotoxicity, overdose, renal failure. Valganciclovir dosage: STARTED TWO WEEKS AFTER INTRAVENOUS GANCICLOVIR HAD BEEN STARTED. STRENGTH REPORTED AS 450MG. During the same period patient was treated with ACYCLOVIR, OMEPRAZOLE, FUROSEMIDE, ACETAMINOPHEN, ELSPAR. Patient died.
