Valcyte and renal failure Patient Reports February 12, 2012

Valcyte Side Effects Report #5937892-0
Valcyte side effect was reported by a Physician from SWEDEN on Oct 23, 2008. Male patient, 67 years of age, was diagnosed with cytomegalovirus infection  and was treated with Valcyte. After drug was administered, patient experienced the following side effects: hepatic failure, renal failure. Valcyte dosage: DOSING AMOUNT WAS REPORTED AS DOSE 900 MGX2. During the same period patient was treated with OMEPRAZOLE, FOLACIN, KONAKION, FLAGYL, POLYSTYRENE SULFONATE, ORALOVITE. Patient died on 09/14/2008.

After drug was administered, patient experienced the following side effects: blood creatinine increased, multi-organ failure, renal failure, thrombocytopenia, white blood cell count decreased. Valcyte dosage: unknown. During the same period patient was treated with CELLCEPT. Patient died.

After drug was administered, patient experienced the following side effects: dehydration, diarrhoea, hepatic failure, renal failure, shock, vomiting. Valcyte dosage: unknown. Patient was hospitalized. Patient recovered.
