Tygacil and cardio-respiratory arrest Patient Reports February 11, 2012

Tygacil Side Effects Report #5726839-8
Tygacil side effect was reported by a Pharmacist from UNITED STATES on Apr 22, 2008. Female patient, weighting 94.80 lb, was diagnosed with sepsis , pneumonia , rheumatoid arthritis , respiratory tract infection and was treated with Tygacil. After drug was administered, patient experienced the following side effects: cardio-respiratory arrest, disease progression, disseminated intravascular coagulation, encephalopathy, pancreatitis, respiratory failure. Tygacil dosage: 100 MG LOADING DOSE, THEN 50 MG DAILY. During the same period patient was treated with METHYLPREDNISOLONE, LEVOFLOXACIN, AMLODIPINE, CARVEDILOL, DOXAZOSIN MESYLATE, OXYCODONE, BUSPIRONE. Patient was hospitalized and became disabled. Patient died on 03/05/2008.

Patient was hospitalized and became disabled. Patient died on 03/05/2008.

After drug was administered, patient experienced the following side effects: blister, cardio-respiratory arrest, nervous system disorder. Tygacil dosage: unknown. During the same period patient was treated with FLAGYL, NEXIUM. Patient recovered.
