Trimethoprim Side Effects Report #5603988-6
Trimethoprim side effect was reported by a Pharmacist from UNITED STATES on Jan 23, 2008. Female patient, 87 years of age, weighting 174.2 lb, was diagnosed with urinary tract infection  and was treated with Trimethoprim. After drug was administered, patient experienced the following side effects: hyperkalaemia, metabolic acidosis, pain , renal failure acute. Trimethoprim dosage: 160/800MG 1 PO. During the same period patient was treated with WARFARIN, FUROSEMIDE, ASPIRIN, ACETAMINOPHEN, PROMETHAZINE, LATANOPROST, POTASSIUM CHLORIDE, MONOPRIL. Patient was hospitalized and became disabled. Patient recovered.
