Trimethoprim Side Effects Report #4655242-7
Trimethoprim side effect was reported by a Consumer or non-health professional from on Apr 30, 2005. Male patient, 85 years of age, was diagnosed with urinary tract infection , atrial fibrillation  and was treated with Trimethoprim. After drug was administered, patient experienced the following side effects: haematochezia, malaise, melaena. Trimethoprim dosage: 200MG TWICE PER DAY. During the same period patient was treated with WARFARIN, NEBIVOLOL, ASPIRIN, CARBONATE, BUMETANIDE, SEVELAMER. Patient was hospitalized. Patient recovered.

Female patient, 74 years of age, was diagnosed with urinary tract infection , rheumatoid arthritis  and was treated with Trimethoprim. After drug was administered, patient experienced the following side effects: clostridial infection, diarrhoea, klebsiella sepsis, malaise, neutropenic sepsis, pathogen resistance, septic shock, staphylococcal infection . Trimethoprim dosage: 150 MG, ORAL. During the same period patient was treated with METHOTREXATE. Patient died.

After drug was administered, patient experienced the following side effects: agranulocytosis, blister, intestinal ulcer, malaise, mouth ulceration, oropharyngeal blistering. Trimethoprim dosage: unknown. Patient was hospitalized. Patient died on 06/03/2008.
