Trimethoprim side effect was reported by a Consumer or non-health professional from UNITED KINGDOM on Nov 14, 2007. Female patient, 77 years of age, was diagnosed with urinary tract infection  and was treated with Trimethoprim. After drug was administered, patient experienced the following side effects: diarrhoea, hypotension, pyrexia, vomiting. Trimethoprim dosage: 400 MG (200 MG, 2 IN 1 D) ORAL. Patient was hospitalized. Patient recovered.

Female patient, 74 years of age, was diagnosed with urinary tract infection , rheumatoid arthritis  and was treated with Trimethoprim. After drug was administered, patient experienced the following side effects: clostridial infection, contraindication to medical treatment, diarrhoea, klebsiella sepsis, neutropenic sepsis, septic shock, staphylococcal infection . Trimethoprim dosage: 150 MG, ORAL. During the same period patient was treated with METHOTREXATE, CIPROFLOXACIN, FOLINIC ACID. Patient died on 09/03/2005.

After drug was administered, patient experienced the following side effects: clostridial infection, diarrhoea, klebsiella sepsis, malaise, neutropenic sepsis, pathogen resistance, septic shock, staphylococcal infection . Trimethoprim dosage: 150 MG, ORAL. During the same period patient was treated with METHOTREXATE. Patient died.

After drug was administered, patient experienced the following side effects: abscess limb, cholelithiasis, diarrhoea, extravasation, heart rate increased, hypotension, multi-organ failure, pyrexia, stevens-johnson syndrome. Trimethoprim dosage: unknown. Patient died on 06/07/2005.

Trimethoprim dosage: 200 MG, BID,. During the same period patient was treated with CEFRADINE CAPSULE, CIPROFLOXACIN, GENTAMICIN, CLEXANE, ADCAL. Patient was hospitalized. Patient died.
