Trimethoprim Side Effects Report #5012055-4
Trimethoprim side effect was reported by a Consumer or non-health professional from UNITED KINGDOM on May 13, 2006. Female patient, 60 years of age, was diagnosed with urinary tract infection , pulmonary embolism  and was treated with Trimethoprim. After drug was administered, patient experienced the following side effects: abdominal pain , deep vein thrombosis , haemoglobin decreased, hypovolaemic shock, international normalised ratio increased, muscle haemorrhage, pyrexia, retroperitoneal haematoma. Trimethoprim dosage: unknown. During the same period patient was treated with METRONIDAZOLE, CEPHALEXIN, WARFARIN. Patient was hospitalized. Patient recovered.
