Tretinoin side effect was reported by a Pharmacist from UNITED STATES on Jan 30, 2009. Male patient, weighting 244.7 lb, was diagnosed with progressive multifocal leukoencephalopathy and was treated with Tretinoin. After drug was administered, patient experienced the following side effects: aspartate aminotransferase increased, blood bilirubin increased, blood magnesium increased, blood phosphorus increased, cardiac arrest
, cardiac tamponade, oxygen saturation decreased, pericardial effusion, retinoic acid syndrome. Tretinoin dosage: 50MG Q12H PO. During the same period patient was treated with ZOSYN, GENTAMICIN, VANCOMYCIN. Patient died on 12/07/2007.Tretinoin Side Effects Report #5793074-7

Male patient, child 3 years of age, weighting 35.27 lb, was diagnosed with acute promyelocytic leukaemia and was treated with Tretinoin. After drug was administered, patient experienced the following side effects: febrile neutropenia, lung infiltration, oxygen saturation decreased, pyrexia, retinoic acid syndrome, tachypnoea, vomiting. Tretinoin dosage: 10 MG QAM PO; 20 MG QPM PO. Patient was hospitalized and became disabled. Patient recovered.

Male patient, 19 years of age, was diagnosed with acute promyelocytic leukaemia and was treated with Tretinoin. After drug was administered, patient experienced the following side effects: abdominal rigidity, chest x-ray abnormal, crepitations, hypotension, hypoxia, ileal perforation, neutrophil count decreased, oxygen saturation decreased, peritonitis. Tretinoin dosage: unknown. During the same period patient was treated with DAUNORUBICIN. Patient was hospitalized. Patient died.
