Tigecycline Side Effects Report #4974418-2
Tigecycline side effect was reported by a Consumer or non-health professional from FRANCE on Apr 01, 2006. Male patient, 73 years of age, was diagnosed with pneumonia  and was treated with Tigecycline. After drug was administered, patient experienced the following side effects: condition aggravated, idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis, lung disorder. Tigecycline dosage: 100MG LOADING DOSE THEN 50 MG EVERY 12 HOURS. Patient was hospitalized. Patient died.

Female patient, 61 years of age, weighting 112.4 lb, was diagnosed with peritonitis bacterial and was treated with Tigecycline. After drug was administered, patient experienced the following side effects: condition aggravated, lipase increased, pancreatitis. Tigecycline dosage: 100MG X1 -LOADING DOSE IV 4 DOSES. During the same period patient was treated with GENTAMICIN, LEVAQUIN, FLAGYL, RIFAMPIN, VANCOMYCIN, DOXERCALCIFEROL. Patient recovered.

Female patient, 60 years of age, weighting 125.2 lb, was diagnosed with osteomyelitis, nausea  and was treated with Tigecycline. After drug was administered, patient experienced the following side effects: abdominal pain , acquired porphyria, asthenia, back pain , blood pressure increased, chest pain , condition aggravated, nausea , pallor. Tigecycline dosage: unknown. During the same period patient was treated with GRAVOL, ASCORBIC ACID, LEVOTHYROXINE, ATORVASTATIN, CALCITONIN, BUSCOPAN, HYDROMORPHONE. Patient recovered.

After drug was administered, patient experienced the following side effects: abdominal pain , acquired porphyria, asthenia, back pain , blood pressure increased, chest pain , condition aggravated, nausea , pallor. Female patient, 52 years of age, was diagnosed with abdominal infection, acinetobacter bacteraemia, pleural infection, pneumonia bacterial and was treated with Tigecycline. After drug was administered, patient experienced the following side effects: bradycardia, cardiac arrest , condition aggravated, fungal sepsis, multi-organ failure, septic shock, tachycardia. Tigecycline dosage: 50 MG 2X PER 1 DAY INTRAVENOUS. During the same period patient was treated with TICARCILLIN. Patient died.

Female patient, 37 years of age, weighting 125.7 lb, was diagnosed with abdominal abscess and was treated with Tigecycline. After drug was administered, patient experienced the following side effects: abdominal distension, abdominal pain , blood bilirubin increased, condition aggravated, heart rate decreased, hepatic enzyme increased, sepsis . Tigecycline dosage: 50 MG TWICE DAILY IV. Patient was hospitalized. Patient died on 09/08/2008.
