Tigecycline and cardiac failure Patient Reports February 12, 2012

Tigecycline Side Effects Report #5223754-3
Tigecycline side effect was reported by a Consumer or non-health professional from CROATIA (local name: Hrvatska) on Sept 05, 2006. Female patient, 80 years of age, was diagnosed with pneumonia  and was treated with Tigecycline. After drug was administered, patient experienced the following side effects: anaemia, cardiac failure, multi-organ failure, septic shock, thrombocytopenia. Tigecycline dosage: 100 MG LOAD, THEN 50 MG TWICE DAILY INTRAVENOUS. During the same period patient was treated with DIAZEPAM, FUROSEMIDE, RANITIDINE, DIGOXIN, VERAPAMIL. Patient died.

After drug was administered, patient experienced the following side effects: acinetobacter infection, anaemia, aspiration tracheal, blood culture positive, cardiac failure, gastrointestinal haemorrhage, monocyte percentage decreased, multi-organ failure. Tigecycline dosage: 100 MG LOAD, THEN 50 MG TWICE DAILY INTRAVENOUS. During the same period patient was treated with DIAZEPAM, FUROSEMIDE, RANITIDINE, DIGOXIN, VERAPAMIL. Patient was hospitalized. Patient died.

After drug was administered, patient experienced the following side effects: acinetobacter infection, anaemia, aspiration tracheal abnormal, bacteria blood identified, cardiac failure, gastrointestinal haemorrhage, multi-organ failure, pseudomonas infection, septic shock. Tigecycline dosage: 100 MG LOAD, THEN 50 MG TWICE DAILY INTRAVENOUS. During the same period patient was treated with DIAZEPAM, FUROSEMIDE, RANITIDINE, DIGOXIN, VERAPAMIL. Patient was hospitalized. Patient died.
