Tigecycline and asthenia Patient Reports February 12, 2012

Tigecycline Side Effects Report #4728250-5
Tigecycline side effect was reported by a Physician from UKRAINE on July 15, 2005. Male patient, 65 years of age, was diagnosed with pneumonia  and was treated with Tigecycline. After drug was administered, patient experienced the following side effects: asthenia, band neutrophil count increased, chills, dyspnoea, haemoglobin decreased, hyperhidrosis, hypertension, infusion related reaction, nausea . Tigecycline dosage: 100 MG LOAD THEN 50 MG EVERY 12 HOURS. During the same period patient was treated with CEFTRIAXONE, NITROXOLINE. Patient recovered.

Female patient, 60 years of age, weighting 125.2 lb, was diagnosed with osteomyelitis, nausea  and was treated with Tigecycline. After drug was administered, patient experienced the following side effects: abdominal pain , acquired porphyria, asthenia, back pain , blood pressure increased, chest pain , condition aggravated, nausea , pallor. Tigecycline dosage: unknown. During the same period patient was treated with GRAVOL, ASCORBIC ACID, LEVOTHYROXINE, ATORVASTATIN, CALCITONIN, BUSCOPAN, HYDROMORPHONE. Patient recovered.

Male patient, 80 years of age, weighting 250.4 lb, was diagnosed with localised infection and was treated with Tigecycline. After drug was administered, patient experienced the following side effects: abasia, asthenia, dyspnoea, feeling abnormal, fluid overload, impaired healing, infected skin ulcer, lethargy, purulence. Tigecycline dosage: 100 MG X1 THEN 50 MG Q12H IVPB. Patient recovered.
