Theophylline side effect was reported by a Physician from JAPAN on Aug 09, 2006. Male patient, child 4 years of age, was diagnosed with asthma  and was treated with Theophylline. After drug was administered, patient experienced the following side effects: brain oedema, cerebral atrophy, clonic convulsion, depressed level of consciousness, febrile convulsion, nervous system disorder, paralysis , respiratory failure. Theophylline dosage: 17 MG/KG PO. Patient was hospitalized. Patient recovered.
