Stavudine Side Effects Report #5371545-5
Stavudine side effect was reported by a Health Professional from UNITED STATES on June 25, 2007. Female patient, 44 years of age, weighting 255.7 lb, was diagnosed with hiv infection  and was treated with Stavudine. After drug was administered, patient experienced the following side effects: bacterial sepsis, dialysis , lactic acidosis, upper respiratory tract infection, vomiting. Stavudine dosage: 40MG BID PO. During the same period patient was treated with LAMIVUDINE, LOPINAVIR, NIFEDIPINE, HYDROCHLORATHIAZIDE, GAVISCON, AUGMENTIN. Patient was hospitalized. Patient died on 06/06/2007.

Stavudine side effect was reported by a Pharmacist from on Jan 26, 2005. Female patient, 44 years of age, weighting 122.8 lb, was diagnosed with hiv infection  and was treated with Stavudine. After drug was administered, patient experienced the following side effects: arteriovenous shunt operation, diarrhoea haemorrhagic, nausea , rhabdomyolysis, treatment noncompliance. Stavudine dosage: 20MG DAILY ORAL. During the same period patient was treated with ABACAVIR, NELFINAVIR, DAPSONE, EOSOMEPRAZOLE, PIOGLITAZONE, LEVOTHYROXINE, CALCIUM ACETATE. Patient was hospitalized. Patient recovered.

During the same period patient was treated with LAMIVUDINE, NEVIRAPINE. Patient died on 02/09/2005.

After drug was administered, patient experienced the following side effects: dehydration, diarrhoea, gastroenteritis cryptosporidial, immunosuppression, isosporiasis, vomiting, weight decreased. Stavudine dosage: 30 MG BID PO. During the same period patient was treated with LAMIVUDINE, EFAVIRENZ, BACTRIM. Patient died on 09/23/2006.

Female patient, child 11 years of age, was diagnosed with hiv infection , antifungal prophylaxis, tuberculosis  and was treated with Stavudine. After drug was administered, patient experienced the following side effects: abdominal pain upper, aspartate aminotransferase increased, bilirubin conjugated increased, blood alkaline phosphatase increased, hepatomegaly, jaundice , vomiting. Stavudine dosage: unknown. During the same period patient was treated with LAMIVUDINE, KALETRA, COTRIM D, RIFAMPICIN, PYRAZINAMIDE, ISONIAZID. Patient recovered.
