Starlix and blood creatinine increased Patient Reports February 12, 2012

Starlix Side Effects Report #5285943-1
Starlix side effect was reported by a Health Professional from UNITED KINGDOM on Mar 26, 2007. Male patient, 75 years of age, weighting 198.4 lb, was diagnosed with diabetes mellitus non-insulin-dependent, hyperlipidaemia, osteoarthritis , myocardial ischaemia, insomnia, hypertension and was treated with Starlix. After drug was administered, patient experienced the following side effects: blood creatinine increased, femoral artery occlusion, glomerular filtration rate decreased, renal artery stenosis. Starlix dosage: 180 MG, TID. During the same period patient was treated with METFORMIN, GLICLAZIDE, SIMVASTATIN, ALLOPURINOL, IBUPROFEN, ACETYLSALICYLIC ACID SRT, LOPRAZOLAM, RAMIPRIL. Patient recovered.

Female patient, 56 years of age, weighting 249.1 lb, was diagnosed with diabetes mellitus non-insulin-dependent, hypertension, dyslipidaemia and was treated with Starlix. After drug was administered, patient experienced the following side effects: alanine aminotransferase increased, aspartate aminotransferase increased, blood alkaline phosphatase increased, blood creatinine increased, blood urea increased, hepatic enzyme increased, hepatitis , hepatitis b antibody positive, hypotension. Starlix dosage: 120 MG, TID. During the same period patient was treated with LANTUS, ATACAND, LIPITOR, NEPHROCAPS. Patient was hospitalized. Patient recovered.

Starlix side effect was reported by a Physician from GERMANY on Oct 20, 2006. Female patient, 64 years of age, was diagnosed with diabetes mellitus and was treated with Starlix. After drug was administered, patient experienced the following side effects: alanine aminotransferase increased, aspartate aminotransferase increased, blood creatinine increased, blood lactate dehydrogenase increased, blood lactic acid increased, cardiovascular disorder, gamma-glutamyltransferase increased, gastroenteritis , liver disorder. Starlix dosage: unknown. Patient died.
