Septra Side Effects Report #6057537-1
Septra side effect was reported by a Consumer or non-health professional from AUSTRALIA on Jan 20, 2009. Male patient, 82 years of age, was diagnosed with stenotrophomonas infection, evidence based treatment, pneumonia staphylococcal, serratia infection, depression  and was treated with Septra. After drug was administered, patient experienced the following side effects: apraxia, balance disorder, delirium, disorientation, dysstasia, fall , gait disturbance, illusion, normochromic normocytic anaemia. Septra dosage: 2 DF (800 MG/160 MG), BID. During the same period patient was treated with AMPICILLIN, PIPERACILLIN AND TAZOBACTAM, CEFEPIME, ESOMEPRAZOLE. Patient recovered.

Male patient, 59 years of age, weighting 143.3 lb, was diagnosed with antibiotic prophylaxis, hiv test positive  and was treated with Septra. After drug was administered, patient experienced the following side effects: chills, dehydration, dizziness , electrocardiogram qt prolonged, fall , fatigue, feeling abnormal, loss of consciousness, orthostatic hypotension. Septra dosage: 80/400MG, QD. During the same period patient was treated with TRIZIVIR, DELAVIRDINE, NORVIR, INVIRASE, AZITHROMYCIN. Patient was hospitalized. Patient recovered.
