Rifaximin side effect was reported by a Physician from UNITED STATES on Oct 10, 2008. Male patient, 53 years of age, weighting 208.7 lb, was diagnosed with hepatic encephalopathy and was treated with Rifaximin. After drug was administered, patient experienced the following side effects: abnormal behaviour, anaemia, anger, ascites, blood creatinine increased, blood culture positive, condition aggravated, culture urine positive, disorientation. Rifaximin dosage: 1100 MG (550 MG, 2 IN 1 D),ORAL; 1100 MG(550 MG, 2 IN 1 D), ORAL. During the same period patient was treated with LACTULOSE, AMIODARONE, CYMBALTA, PROPRANOLOL, PROTONIX, NEXIUM, LASIX. Patient was hospitalized. Patient recovered.
