Rifampin Side Effects Report #5010941-2
Rifampin side effect was reported by a Consumer or non-health professional from UNITED STATES on Mar 20, 2006. Male patient, 34 years of age, was diagnosed with tuberculosis  and was treated with Rifampin. After drug was administered, patient experienced the following side effects: abdominal discomfort, alanine aminotransferase increased, aspartate aminotransferase increased, blood alkaline phosphatase increased, blood bilirubin increased, hepatic failure, nausea , yellow skin. Rifampin dosage: unknown. During the same period patient was treated with PYRAZINAMIDE. Patient died.

After drug was administered, patient experienced the following side effects: eosinophil count increased, headache , meningitis eosinophilic, nausea , white blood cell count increased. Rifampin dosage: unknown. During the same period patient was treated with MINOCYCLINE, ROCEPHIN, VANCOMYCIN. Patient was hospitalized. Patient recovered.
