Rifampicin side effect was reported by a Consumer or non-health professional from on Jan 21, 2005. Female patient, child 5 years of age, weighting 59.52 lb, was diagnosed with tuberculosis  and was treated with Rifampicin. After drug was administered, patient experienced the following side effects: focal nodular hyperplasia, hepatic artery thrombosis, hepatic necrosis, hepatocellular damage, vasculitis . Rifampicin dosage: unknown. During the same period patient was treated with ISONIAZID, PYRAZINAMIDE, ETHAMBUTOL, PREDNISOLONE. Patient was hospitalized. Patient recovered.

During the same period patient was treated with ISONIAZID, PYRAZINAMIDE, CIPROFLOXACIN, CEPHALOSPORINES, MANNITOL, FUROSEMIDE, DEXAMETHASONE, PHENOBARBITAL. Patient was hospitalized. Patient died.

After drug was administered, patient experienced the following side effects: hepatic encephalopathy, hepatic failure, hepatic necrosis, liver transplant , loss of consciousness, unresponsive to stimuli. Rifampicin dosage: unknown. During the same period patient was treated with ISONIAZID, ETHAMBUTOL HYDROCHLORIDE, ETHAMBUTOL HYDROCHLORIDE, PYRAZINAMIDE. Patient recovered.

After drug was administered, patient experienced the following side effects: blood albumin decreased, haematocrit decreased, haemoglobin decreased, heart rate increased, hepatic encephalopathy, hepatic failure, hepatic necrosis, liver transplant , loss of consciousness. Rifampicin dosage: 600 MG, QD. During the same period patient was treated with ISONIAZID, PYRAZINAMIDE, ETHAMBUTOL HYDROCHLORIDE. Patient was hospitalized. Patient recovered.
