Raltegravir and alanine aminotransferase increased Patient Reports February 12, 2012

Raltegravir Side Effects Report #5509901-4
Raltegravir side effect was reported by a Health Professional from AUSTRALIA on Oct 23, 2007. Male patient, 45 years of age, was diagnosed with hiv infection , castleman's disease and was treated with Raltegravir. After drug was administered, patient experienced the following side effects: abdominal distension, alanine aminotransferase increased, blood bilirubin increased, gamma-glutamyltransferase increased, hepatosplenomegaly, hyperglycaemia, immune reconstitution syndrome, incorrect dose administered. Raltegravir dosage: 400 MG/BID/PO. During the same period patient was treated with ETRAVIRINE, DEXAMETHASONE, DARUNAVIR, LAMIVUDINE, RITONAVIR, TENOFOVIR DISOPROXIL FUMARATE. Patient was hospitalized. Patient recovered.

Raltegravir side effect was reported by a Physician from FRANCE on Jan 04, 2008. Male patient, 36 years of age, was diagnosed with hiv infection  and was treated with Raltegravir. After drug was administered, patient experienced the following side effects: alanine aminotransferase increased, asthenia, cd4 lymphocytes increased, cd8 lymphocytes increased, dialysis , diarrhoea, haemolytic anaemia, haptoglobin decreased. Raltegravir dosage: 400 MG BID PO. During the same period patient was treated with ABACAVIR SULPHATE, DARUNAVIR, EMTRICITABINE, GABAPENTIN, RITONAVIR, SULFAMETHOXAZOLE AND TRIMETHOPRIM. Patient was hospitalized. Patient recovered.
