Protamine side effect was reported by a Physician from CANADA on Apr 26, 2005. Female patient, 66 years of age, weighting 207.2 lb, was diagnosed with haemorrhage, off label use and was treated with Protamine. After drug was administered, patient experienced the following side effects: bacteraemia, candidiasis, fungal infection What is  fungal infection, hepatic enzyme increased, multi-organ failure, pneumonia What is  pneumonia, portal vein thrombosis, post procedural haemorrhage. Protamine dosage: unknown. During the same period patient was treated with NIASTASE. Patient was hospitalized. Patient recovered.

Male patient, 74 years of age, was diagnosed with coronary artery bypass What is  coronary artery bypass and was treated with Protamine. After drug was administered, patient experienced the following side effects: haemodynamic instability, no therapeutic response, post procedural haemorrhage. Protamine dosage: 450MG ONCE IV. During the same period patient was treated with PROTAMINE SULPHATE, HEPARIN, APROTINEN, STANDARD OPERATIVE PROTOCOL ANESTHETICS, CEPHALOSPORIN, CARDIPLEGIA SOLUTIONS. Patient recovered.
