Propylthiouracil side effect was reported by a Pharmacist from UNITED STATES on May 30, 2007. Female patient, 57 years of age, weighting 117.5 lb, was diagnosed with thyrotoxic crisis and was treated with Propylthiouracil. After drug was administered, patient experienced the following side effects: asthenia, diarrhoea, dyspnoea, fatigue, leukocytoclastic vasculitis, nausea , neutrophil count decreased, neutrophil percentage decreased, productive cough. Propylthiouracil dosage: unknown. Patient was hospitalized. Patient recovered.

After drug was administered, patient experienced the following side effects: abdominal pain , acute hepatic failure, blood pressure increased, brain herniation, convulsion, decreased appetite, mental status changes, nausea , neurological examination abnormal. Propylthiouracil dosage: unknown. Patient died on 12/04/2007.

Propylthiouracil dosage: 50 MG 2 X EACH DAY PO. Patient was hospitalized. Patient recovered.

After drug was administered, patient experienced the following side effects: abdominal pain , acholia, choluria, hepatic encephalopathy, hepatic failure, hepatitis fulminant, international normalised ratio increased, nausea , pyrexia. Propylthiouracil dosage: 150 MG 3X DAILY. During the same period patient was treated with ATENOLOL. Patient was hospitalized. Patient recovered.
