Propylthiouracil side effect was reported by a Health Professional from UNITED STATES on Jan 22, 2009. Female patient, 19 years of age, was diagnosed with hypothyroidism and was treated with Propylthiouracil. After drug was administered, patient experienced the following side effects: hepatic cirrhosis, hepatic failure, hepatic fibrosis, hyperthyroidism, liver injury, liver transplant . Propylthiouracil dosage: 100 MG;TID. Patient was hospitalized. Patient died.

Propylthiouracil side effect was reported by a Physician from UNITED STATES on Apr 22, 2008. Female patient, 19 years of age, was diagnosed with basedow's disease, hyperthyroidism and was treated with Propylthiouracil. After drug was administered, patient experienced the following side effects: acute hepatic failure, brain herniation, coagulopathy, encephalopathy, hepatic fibrosis, hepatic necrosis, hepatitis , hepatocellular injury. Propylthiouracil dosage: 100 MG TID PO. Patient died on 12/05/2007.
