Propylthiouracil side effect was reported by a Physician from UNITED STATES on Sept 08, 2008. Female patient, child 9. years of age, weighting 36.00 lb, was diagnosed with basedow's disease, hyperthyroidism and was treated with Propylthiouracil. After drug was administered, patient experienced the following side effects: acute hepatic failure, antimitochondrial antibody positive, antinuclear antibody positive, aphthous stomatitis, hepatic encephalopathy, hepatitis , liver transplant , smooth muscle antibody positive. Propylthiouracil dosage: 150 MG, 100 MG, 150 PO. Patient was hospitalized. Patient recovered.

Propylthiouracil side effect was reported by a Consumer or non-health professional from on June 20, 2005. Female patient, 20 years of age, was treated with Propylthiouracil. After drug was administered, patient experienced the following side effects: abdominal pain , acholia, choluria, hepatic encephalopathy, hepatic failure, hepatitis fulminant, international normalised ratio increased, nausea , pyrexia. Propylthiouracil dosage: 150 MG 3X DAILY. During the same period patient was treated with ATENOLOL. Patient was hospitalized. Patient recovered.
