Propylthiouracil side effect was reported by a Pharmacist from UNITED STATES on July 13, 2005. Female patient, 60 years of age, was diagnosed with hyperthyroidism, atrial fibrillation
and was treated with Propylthiouracil. After drug was administered, patient experienced the following side effects: coagulation time prolonged, coagulopathy, international normalised ratio increased, treatment noncompliance. Propylthiouracil dosage: ORAL; 150.0 MILLIGRAM. During the same period patient was treated with WARFARIN, DIGOXIN, CARVEDOLOL. Patient was hospitalized. Propylthiouracil side effect was reported by a Physician from UNITED STATES on Apr 22, 2008. Female patient, 19 years of age, was diagnosed with basedow's disease, hyperthyroidism and was treated with Propylthiouracil. After drug was administered, patient experienced the following side effects: acute hepatic failure, brain herniation, coagulopathy, encephalopathy, hepatic fibrosis, hepatic necrosis, hepatitis
, hepatocellular injury. Propylthiouracil dosage: 100 MG TID PO. Patient died on 12/05/2007.
