Propylthiouracil side effect was reported by a Health Professional from TURKEY on Feb 20, 2006. Female patient, 61 years of age, was diagnosed with hypothyroidism, toxic nodular goitre and was treated with Propylthiouracil. After drug was administered, patient experienced the following side effects: anorexia, antineutrophil cytoplasmic antibody increased, antinuclear antibody positive, arthralgia, blood albumin decreased, blood thyroid stimulating hormone decreased, blood urea increased, c-reactive protein increased, crepitations. Propylthiouracil dosage: 300 MG; QD; PO. Patient was hospitalized. Patient recovered.

After drug was administered, patient experienced the following side effects: alanine aminotransferase increased, aortic atherosclerosis, aspartate aminotransferase increased, blood creatinine increased, blood pressure systolic increased, blood urea increased, colitis ischaemic, colonic polyp What is  colonic polyp, diarrhoea. Propylthiouracil dosage: 100 MG 3 TIMES DAILY. During the same period patient was treated with PROPRANOLOL. Patient was hospitalized. Patient recovered.
