Propylthiouracil side effect was reported by a Consumer or non-health professional from UNITED STATES on Oct 16, 2006. Female patient, 62 years of age, was diagnosed with hyperthyroidism and was treated with Propylthiouracil. After drug was administered, patient experienced the following side effects: basedow's disease, blister, blood thyroid stimulating hormone decreased, disease recurrence, oedema peripheral, pain , purpura, rash , skin exfoliation. Propylthiouracil dosage: 100 MG;TID;PO. During the same period patient was treated with ORAL CONTRACEPTIVE, PROPANOLOL LA. Patient was hospitalized. Patient recovered.

After drug was administered, patient experienced the following side effects: abdominal pain , acid fast stain positive, anorexia, anti-neutrophil cytoplasmic antibody positive vasculitis, antinuclear antibody positive, arthralgia, autoimmune disorder, blister, blood thyroid stimulating hormone decreased. Propylthiouracil dosage: 150 MG DAILY. During the same period patient was treated with LEVOTHYROXINE. Patient was hospitalized. Patient recovered.
