Female patient, 19 years of age, was diagnosed with hyperthyroidism and was treated with Propylthiouracil. After drug was administered, patient experienced the following side effects: abdominal pain , acute hepatic failure, blood pressure increased, brain herniation, convulsion, decreased appetite, mental status changes, nausea , neurological examination abnormal. Propylthiouracil dosage: unknown. Patient died on 12/04/2007.

Propylthiouracil dosage: 200 MG; QD; PO. Patient was hospitalized. Patient recovered.
