Posaconazole Side Effects Report #5282611-7
Posaconazole side effect was reported by a Physician from UNITED STATES on Mar 13, 2007. Female patient, 67 years of age, weighting 143.0 lb, was diagnosed with systemic mycosis and was treated with Posaconazole. After drug was administered, patient experienced the following side effects: atelectasis, blood albumin decreased, blood potassium decreased, cardiac failure congestive, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, condition aggravated, fibrin d dimer increased, haematocrit decreased, haemoglobin decreased. Posaconazole dosage: 400 MG; BID. During the same period patient was treated with CIPROFLOXACIN, ATENOLOL, AVANDIA, ASPIRIN, ALBUTEROL SULPHATE, FISH OIL, GLYBURIDE. Patient was hospitalized. Patient recovered.

Female patient, 66 years of age, weighting 173.0 lb, was diagnosed with fungal infection  and was treated with Posaconazole. After drug was administered, patient experienced the following side effects: blood albumin decreased, blood creatinine increased, blood potassium decreased, bradycardia, brain natriuretic peptide increased, cardiac failure congestive, condition aggravated, electrocardiogram abnormal, electrocardiogram qt corrected interval prolonged. Posaconazole dosage: unknown. During the same period patient was treated with CIPROFLOXACIN, ATENOLOL, AVANDIA, ASPIRIN, ALBUTEROL SULPHATE, FISH OIL, GLYBURIDE. Patient was hospitalized. Patient recovered.

After drug was administered, patient experienced the following side effects: aspiration pleural cavity abnormal, blood albumin decreased, blood creatine increased, blood potassium decreased, cardiac failure congestive, condition aggravated, dyspnoea, electrocardiogram qt corrected interval prolonged, electrolyte imbalance. Posaconazole dosage: 400 MG;BID. During the same period patient was treated with CIPROFLOXACIN, ATENOLOL, AVANDIA, ASPIRIN, ALBUTEROL SULATE, FISH OIL, GLYBURIDE, SYNTHROID. Patient was hospitalized. Patient recovered.

Male patient, 61 years of age, weighting 174.2 lb, was diagnosed with fungal infection , prophylaxis against graft versus host disease, antiviral prophylaxis and was treated with Posaconazole. After drug was administered, patient experienced the following side effects: bacterial sepsis, benign prostatic hyperplasia, blood disorder, cardiac failure, cholelithiasis, cholestasis, condition aggravated, constipation , convulsion. Posaconazole dosage: 200 MG;QID;PO. During the same period patient was treated with PROGRAF, ACYCLOVIR, SANDIMMUNE, DECORTIN, GANCICLOVIR, CELLCEPT, BELOC ZOC COMP. Patient was hospitalized. Patient died on 05/21/2006.

Posaconazole dosage: 400 MG; BID; PO. During the same period patient was treated with NORVASC, BICARBONATE, EPOGEN, DUPHALAC, PREVACID, SYNTHROID, ZOLOFT, PREDNISONE. Patient recovered.

Male patient, 48 years of age, weighting 216.1 lb, was diagnosed with fungal infection , pain , antiviral prophylaxis, pneumonia , sedation and was treated with Posaconazole. After drug was administered, patient experienced the following side effects: bradycardia, bradypnoea, cerebral disorder, coma, condition aggravated, hepatic enzyme increased, hypotension, liver disorder, respiratory failure. Posaconazole dosage: 400 MG;BID;PO. During the same period patient was treated with MORPHINE, ACYCLOVIR, TAXOBACTAM, PROPOFOL, ABELCET, VORICONAZOLE, DIFLUCAN. Patient was hospitalized. Patient died on 08/07/2005.
