Pitocin side effect was reported by a Health Professional from INDIA on Feb 26, 2009. Female patient, 34 years of age, weighting 187.4 lb, was treated with Pitocin. After drug was administered, patient experienced the following side effects: anaphylactic reaction, echocardiogram abnormal, ejection fraction decreased, electromechanical dissociation, hepatic enzyme abnormal, pleural effusion, renal function test abnormal, sinus tachycardia. Pitocin dosage: 5 UNITS SLOW IV BOLUS, INTRAVENOUS; 10 UNITS INFUSION IN NORMAL SALINE 200 ML, INTRAVENOUS. During the same period patient was treated with METHYLDOPA, LABETALOL, INSULIN, LEVOTHYROXINE, BUPIVACAINE, CHLORIDE, CHLORIDE, METHYLERGOMETRINE MALEATE. Patient recovered.
