Piperacillin side effect was reported by a Health Professional from JAPAN on Sept 19, 2006. Male patient, 77 years of age, was diagnosed with pneumonia aspiration, sedation, prophylaxis against gastrointestinal ulcer, endoscopy
and was treated with Piperacillin. After drug was administered, patient experienced the following side effects: acute respiratory distress syndrome, blood pressure abnormal, haemodialysis, multi-organ failure, pulmonary haemorrhage, purpura, rhabdomyolysis, septic shock, toxic epidermal necrolysis. Piperacillin dosage: unknown. During the same period patient was treated with PIPERACILLIN AND TAZOBACTAM, DORMICUM, FAMOTIDINE, MAGCOROL, IMMUNE GLOBULIN INTRAVENOUS, NORADRENALINE. Piperacillin side effect was reported by a Pharmacist from UNITED STATES on Apr 26, 2007. Male patient, 69 years of age, weighting 211.0 lb, was diagnosed with leg amputation, sepsis
and was treated with Piperacillin. After drug was administered, patient experienced the following side effects: acute respiratory distress syndrome, anaemia, disseminated intravascular coagulation, haemodialysis, hypoperfusion, hypotension, leg amputation, oliguria, platelet count increased. Piperacillin dosage: unknown. During the same period patient was treated with PIPERACILLIN AND TAZOBACTAM, DOPAMINE, FENTANYL, INSULIN, MIDAZOLAM, VANCOMYCIN, PANTOPRAZOLE. Patient was hospitalized. Patient recovered.
