Pioglitazone side effect was reported by a Consumer or non-health professional from TAIWAN, PROVINCE OF CHINA on Sept 25, 2008. Female patient, 54 years of age, was diagnosed with type 2 diabetes mellitus and was treated with Pioglitazone. After drug was administered, patient experienced the following side effects: asthenia, cholelithiasis, pleural effusion, pulmonary hypertension , sinus tachycardia, swelling face, weight decreased, weight increased. Pioglitazone dosage: 30 MG (1 D). During the same period patient was treated with GLIMEPIRIDE, METFORMIN HYDROCHLORIDE, ACARBOSE, PRAVASTATIN. Patient was hospitalized. Patient recovered.
