Photofrin side effect was reported by a Consumer or non-health professional from JAPAN on Nov 24, 2005. Male patient, 74 years of age, was diagnosed with oesophageal carcinoma and was treated with Photofrin. After drug was administered, patient experienced the following side effects: mediastinitis, pericardial effusion, radiation injury. Photofrin dosage: 2 MG/KG I.V.. Patient recovered.

Male patient, 62 years of age, was diagnosed with oesophageal carcinoma and was treated with Photofrin. After drug was administered, patient experienced the following side effects: abscess What is  abscess, bronchial disorder, candida sepsis, gastrointestinal necrosis, haemodialysis, mediastinitis, oesophageal perforation, oropharyngeal candidiasis, pleural effusion. Photofrin dosage: 180 MG, 2 SESSIONS. Patient was hospitalized. Patient recovered.

After drug was administered, patient experienced the following side effects: condition aggravated, mediastinitis, pericardial effusion, therapeutic response decreased. Photofrin dosage: 2 MG/KG I.V.. Patient died.
