Photofrin side effect was reported by a Consumer or non-health professional from UNITED STATES on Apr 17, 2006. Female patient, 46 years of age, was diagnosed with metastases to pleura, non-small cell lung cancer and was treated with Photofrin. After drug was administered, patient experienced the following side effects: acidosis, activated partial thromboplastin time prolonged, acute respiratory distress syndrome, coagulopathy, hyperglycaemia, hypotension, liver function test abnormal, multi-organ failure, renal failure. Photofrin dosage: 2 MG/KG, IV. Patient died.

Female patient, 42 years of age, was diagnosed with metastases to pleura, non-small cell lung cancer and was treated with Photofrin. After drug was administered, patient experienced the following side effects: acidosis, activated partial thromboplastin time prolonged, adrenal insufficiency, blood alkaline phosphatase increased, coagulopathy, gastrointestinal haemorrhage, hyperglycaemia, hypotension, hypothermia . Photofrin dosage: 2 MG/KG, IV. Patient was hospitalized. Patient died.

Photofrin side effect was reported by a Physician from UNITED STATES on May 11, 2006. Female patient, 58 years of age, was diagnosed with malignant peritoneal neoplasm and was treated with Photofrin. After drug was administered, patient experienced the following side effects: anaemia, blood bilirubin increased, blood creatinine increased, bone marrow disorder, coagulopathy, fluid overload, gastrointestinal disorder, gastrointestinal oedema. Photofrin dosage: 2.5 MG/KG IV. During the same period patient was treated with ATIVAN, CALCIUM GLUCONATE, CARAFATE, CEFAZOLIN, FENTANYL, FLAGYL, FLEETS ENEMA, LASIX. Patient died on 10/21/2001.
