Pentothal Side Effects Report #5097302-5
Pentothal side effect was reported by a Physician from BELGIUM on Aug 22, 2006. Male patient, child 9 years of age, was diagnosed with status epilepticus and was treated with Pentothal. After drug was administered, patient experienced the following side effects: cerebral haemorrhage, cortical laminar necrosis, haemodynamic instability. Pentothal dosage: UP TO 1 MG/KG/HR, INFUSION. During the same period patient was treated with DIAZEPAM, PHENYTOIN, PHENOBARBITAL, VALPROIC ACID, CLONAZEPAM, CHLORMETHIAZOLE, METHYLPREDNISOLONE, VIGABATRIN. Patient recovered.

Pentothal side effect was reported by a Physician from on May 09, 2005. Female patient, 35 years of age, was diagnosed with sedation and was treated with Pentothal. After drug was administered, patient experienced the following side effects: cardiac arrest
, fluid retention, haemodialysis, haemodynamic instability, hyperkalaemia, hypokalaemia, post procedural complication, tachycardia, uterine enlargement. Pentothal dosage: 2-3MG.KG-1, INTRAVENOUS. During the same period patient was treated with MIDAZOLAM, SUFENTANIL CITRATE, NIMBEX. Patient died.
