Pentothal Side Effects Report #4665033-9
Pentothal side effect was reported by a Physician from on May 09, 2005. Female patient, 35 years of age, was diagnosed with sedation and was treated with Pentothal. After drug was administered, patient experienced the following side effects: cardiac arrest , fluid retention, haemodialysis, haemodynamic instability, hyperkalaemia, hypokalaemia, post procedural complication, tachycardia, uterine enlargement. Pentothal dosage: 2-3MG.KG-1, INTRAVENOUS. During the same period patient was treated with MIDAZOLAM, SUFENTANIL CITRATE, NIMBEX. Patient died.

After drug was administered, patient experienced the following side effects: cardiac arrest , hyperkalaemia, hypokalaemia, rebound effect. Pentothal dosage: 5 MG/KG, ONCE, INTRAVENOUS BOLUS; 3.75 MG/KG/HR, INFUSION. During the same period patient was treated with CHLORIDE, MANNITOL, PROPOFOL, PHENYTOIN, NOREPINEPHRINE BITARTRATE, ANTIBIOTIC, INSULIN, FENTANYL. Patient recovered.

Pentothal dosage: 5 MG/KG, INTRAVENOUS : 5 MG/KG, PER HOUR, CONTINUOUS INFUSION. Patient recovered.

Pentothal dosage: 500 MG, INTRAVENOUS. During the same period patient was treated with SUXAMETHONIUM, DESFLURANE, SUFENTANIL CITRATE, ROPIVACAINE, ONDANSETRON. Patient recovered.
